Susannah and I spent today down at Robson Square where the Paralympic Torch relay was going around the area. There were 8 different change points and Susannah and I spent the afternoon running between points to catch flame bearers passing the torch. There was an awesome atmosphere right from the kick off starting on stage at Robson Square. BC Premier Gordon Campbell was there cheerfully waving a giant Canadian flag around, along with Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson and Vanoc’s John Furlong. RBC put on a show, a group of wheelchair dancers put on a really great performance and then the flame was lit and the relay got underway. It was great fun for young and old alike, with people running with the flame all around Downtown.
I heard that these guys were both 13 and the youngest of the relay runners.
I have the names of some runners, but if anyone has any info on any people you see here, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll try to update the post later.
There will be lots happening tomorrow with the Opening Ceremony and other official events so be sure to check back soon.

Fabulous shots Leanne and Susannah. Keep up the good work. Oh yeah, one guys name is Roberto.
Fab pics L and Sz. Looks like an action packed job. Your old website/blog let me put comments under each pic, rather than at the end of the blog…? Will look forward to more postings on your blog. Kx
Great Photos Leanne, look forward to seeing more in the next few days.
Not much News about the Paralympics in NZ so good to see some of the action
I love the expression of that little boy in the first picture, so cheerful. Those are amazing shots! It’s great how you manage to capture emotions here!
Those are some wonderful images, wish mine were that good quality!
