What is Trash the Dress? These days Trash the Dress (TTD) ranges from high fashion to brides crawling around in the mud. My take on it is to place a beautiful bride in a dramatic setting, whether that be natural or urban; to create images that we possibly can’t get on your wedding day.
When Tila and Nels booked us for their wedding Tila said she was interested in doing a Trash the Dress session. This couple were super fun on their wedding shoot so I knew the TTD session would be good.
We met up at Third Beach in the evening and started with some shots in the forest. Tila had had her hair and makeup done and was wearing her dress with a giant pair of gumboots.

Then we headed down to the beach. The evening light was so pretty….

How awesome was Tila? She had brought the gumboots so she could wade in the water, but on the spur of the moment she decided just to go for it. I think the photos are totally worth it!

I LOVED doing this shoot![]()
Why do a Trash the Dress shoot? Well, if you love your dress, but want an alternative to storing it away, never to be used again, then this could be for you. You’ll get images to keep or display that will last forever.
